Privacy-first by design
PlanInspect processes all CAD/DWG files entirely on your device using a native Swift parser. Your data is never sent to our servers. You can optionally create a manual backup to iCloud and restore it when needed — encrypted and controlled by you through Apple.
1. Information We Collect
Short answer: almost nothing.
PlanInspect is designed to work entirely offline. We do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the app.
- We do collect your CAD/DWG files or drawings
- We do collect personal information, names, or email addresses
- We do track how you use the app or what files you open
- We do use cookies, fingerprinting, or tracking pixels
If you contact us for support via email, we may retain that correspondence to assist you. This is the only scenario where we may receive personal information.
2. How We Use Information
Since we collect virtually no data, there is very little to use. Any information we do receive (such as support emails) is used solely to:
- Respond to your support inquiries
- Improve the app based on feedback
- Send important product updates (only if you opt in)
We will never sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage
All CAD/DWG files and app data are stored on your device using Apple's sandboxed file storage — your drawings are protected by iOS's built-in security model.
Manual iCloud backup & restore. PlanInspect lets you manually back up your drawings, notes, and settings to iCloud, and restore them when switching devices or reinstalling the app. This is entirely optional and user-initiated — we never have access to your iCloud data.
We do not operate any servers that store your files, drawings, measurements, or annotations. Everything stays on your device unless you choose to manually back up to your personal iCloud account.
4. Children's Privacy
PlanInspect is a professional tool designed for construction and design professionals. It is not directed at children under the age of 13.
Since we do not collect personal information from any users, we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through a support channel, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify users through the app or on our website.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of PlanInspect after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
