A PDF plan workflow built for review, not generic reading

01

Open the full plan set

Import one multipage PDF and move through the drawing set without splitting it into separate files.

02

Establish the working scale

Calibrate from a known dimension or enter the effective printed scale for the current page.

03

Measure with visual confidence

Measure distances and areas, using vector snapping when the PDF contains supported path geometry.

04

Annotate and export

Add notes, photos, pen, highlighter, and text markups, then export the review or a notes report.

FAQ

Can PlanInspect measure any PDF automatically?

A PDF page needs a valid scale. Calibrate from a known dimension or set the effective print scale before relying on measurements.

Does vector snapping work on scanned PDFs?

Snapping requires supported vector paths in the PDF. Scanned or raster-only pages can still be viewed, calibrated, measured manually, and annotated.

Does PlanInspect expose PDF OCG layers?

Not currently. Native layer visibility is available for supported DWG drawings; review annotations use their own layers.

Are password-protected PDFs supported?

Locked or password-protected PDFs are not currently supported.

DWG and PDF each keep a format-appropriate workflow. PlanInspect does not claim DXF support, PDF OCR, automatic revision comparison, or full CAD editing.
